Publishing House
A Publishing House is available at the Institute of Physical Optics.

From the year 2000 a scientific referred journal „Ukrainian Journal of Physical Optics” is regularly published by the Institute. Starting from its first issue the journal became a high level science edition, well known by the Ukrainian and foreign scientists.
The journal is included to major indexing databases of scientific and technical literature such as SCOPUS, Thomson Reuters ISI and other. International recognition of the scientific school working at the Institute of Physical Optics allowed one to complete the Editorial Board of the Journal with known scientists from different countries of the world providing high quality peer-review and thus enhancing the scientific level of the journal.

Publication of a popular magazine “Scientific Horizons”, which is an edition supplementary to „Ukrainian Journal of Physical Optics” has been started by thy Institute in 2010.

Several monographs have been issued by the Publishing House of the Institute of Physical Optics.
Some of them are presented below.

O. G. Vlokh, A. V. Kityk
Crystalline Dielectrics with incommensurate modulated structure. 2002

Based on phenomenological theory and macroscopic properties (dielectric, optical, acoustic) the physical essence of the crystalline dielectrics (ferroelectrics and ferroelastics) with the incommensurate (IC) modulated structure is given. Nontrivial phase transitions and corresponding properties are explained accounting in the expression for free energy so called gradient invariants and terms responsible for the interaction of phason and amplitudon modes implying fractional indices of wave vectors localized within the Brillouin zone. A wide range of effects, being distinguishing for the IC phases, are explained by the interaction of the phase solitions with impurities and defects.

The book is recommended for specia;istes of Master degree, PhD students, scientists working in the field of Solid State Physics, structural phase transitions, Crystal Optics, Crystal Acoustics, Applied Physics.

Herzanych O. I.
A2IVB2VC6VI ferroelectrics under high pressure, 2008.

The book is devoted to the experimental studies of physical properties of A2IVB2VC6VI ferroelectrics under hydrostatic pressure. The main attention is paid to the specific features of dielectrics, ferroelectrics, mechanical and optical properties at phase transitions. The (p,T) [phase diagrams of these crystals are shown to possess a Lifshitz point, separating the transitions to commensurate polar and non-polar phases as well as to an incommensurate phases. Practical applications of A2IVB2VC6VI ferroelectrics are described as well as high pressure facilities for the studies of crystals with phase transitions.

The translation of the textbook P. G. Hunsperger
“Integral Optics: Theory and Technology”, fifth edition. 2003 /Edited by Vlokh R. O. and Vlokh O. G./

The textbook is a first edition on Integral Optics in Ukrainian.  It collects
modern knowledge on the theory and technology of integral devices and systems. Methods of the connection to the waveguides and between them, principles of the light emission by different types of semiconductor lasers and laser light modulation, integral optical receivers and optical amplifiers, Quantum-Well Devices, polymer and thin film Integrated Optics, Photonics and SHF wireless systems, applications and  development directions for the Integral Optics.
At each chapter there are exercises.
The book is recommended for students of colleges and Universities, PhD students, scientists and engineers as a textbook and handbook.
