ABSTRACT
In this work, we solve the (3+1)D paraxial equation, including second-order dispersion and diffraction. The dynamics of the longitudinal polarization forces generated by ultrashort laser pulses are analyzed. In this way, analytical evolution laws for the pulse envelope, force density, and potential are derived. In our previous work, the polarization force was investigated under the first-order dispersion approximation and in the absence of diffraction. Stationary solutions for the force density and potential in 3D space were obtained. The main aim of the present work is to uncover the temporal evolution of the longitudinal polarization force and potential, depending on the diffraction and dispersion of a femtosecond laser pulse. This research provides valuable guidance for developing and designing laser accelerators, with potential applications in laser-driven neutral particle technologies
