The results of investigations of the crystallooptical effects in the ferroics with dimethylammonium-cation performed in vicinity of phase transitions using Senarmont’s method are presented in the paper. The existence of incommensurate phase in DMA-CuCl4 crystals was confirmed within the framework of 279.5-296 K. Besides, the phase sequence for DMA-ZnCl4 and DMA-MnCl3 compounds has been amended.

Key words: ferroics, incommensurate phase, piezooptic, electrooptic, dimethylammonium.
